Vetting and Barring Scheme Guidance
The Home Office has announced that the full guidance to assist employers and voluntary groups in implementing the Vetting and Barring Scheme is now available.
This document contains details on :
- the scope of the Scheme
- barring arrangements
- responsibilities and duties for both employers and volunteer organisers, and the duties for those individuals you take on
- timescales for the phased implementation of the Scheme
- explanation of transitional arrangements around Scheme introduction
This full guidance will be followed by 'sector specific' guidance documents which will include the sport sector, these will show how the Scheme will be applied in different areas of work and volunteering activities.
The CPSU is continuing to work with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport as part of a working group to produce the sports specific guidance.
We will continue to keep you updated on the developments of this guidance.
UPDATE:July,2010
BJJAGB has received the attached copy of the CRB’s ‘Top Tips’, for use when completing the new CRB application form which goes live on the 26th July 2010. This change is as a result of Registered Body feedback and the CRB have clarified their approach when an applicant is unable to produce the passport / driving licence. The Top Tips include revised guidance regarding this particular element (sections A20 – A27 within the application form).
